     Briefly

  This story is based on the '98 TV series. The concept of the Shinma is both
complex and vague. It is perhaps easiest to conceive of them as a group of
forgotten gods that no longer have any worshippers and have retired to the realm
of The Dark to sleep away the rest of eternity. The vampire clan were selected
as the Guardians to keep disturbing occurances out and the more restless Shinma
in. During a rebellion in the long past, many Shinma escaped and Miyu has spent
centuries tracking them down, one by one. Miyu is a powerful supernatural being,
rather than a member of the undead, and her bites can, if she desires, grant
such things as true immortality, true happiness, or a variety of other
unpleasant conditions. Much of the horror of the series comes from an
exploration of the flip side of our usual wants and desires and generally
doesn't hit you until you've had a chance to think about it.
  However, all that really has nothing to do with the following story. I just
wanted to throw together some cool characters and kinky sex. It should be
noted, though, that any aliens, spirits, time travelers, extradimensional
beings, sorcerors, spies, super heroes, villians, or anything the slightest bit
out of the ordinary, no matter how important their mission, invariably disguise
themselves as students and attend classes without fail. This is an almost
universal thing in anime.
  Oddly enough, the show had an episode pulled because it was too similar to
a series of serial killings in Japan. A few months later, a popular American
vampire show had the same thing occur. Weird coincidence, huh?
